  • Brief Departmental Profile:

    The department of Zoology started its journey in the year 1996 with elective classes in the old building of the college with one practical room and one common lecture room. The number of students were few and the teacher’s strength was only one. The first HOD/ In-charge was Mrs Sudipa Debbarma. In the year 2008 the Zoology honours was introduced in the department. Two female students passed out from this department in the year 2011 of which one passed with honours. In the next year three students passed with honours, out of which one female student scored First class second in BSc.Part III examination. At present the department has three lecture cum practical rooms for honours students, one common lecture room, one practical class room, one store room, one specimen room, two research rooms and one HOD cum teachers room. Besides this the department has two Assistant Professors, two PGT and one GL and one Lab. Attendant. We believe in ourselves and we are confident that with our consorted effort it is likely that the department will flourish in near future and can fulfill our vision.

Eligibility Criteria at Entry Level :
  • For admisson in Zoology Honours, the candidate should have passed H.S in science without compartmental in Biology.
  • A general candidate is eligible to apply in Zoology Hon's course if he/she has secured in H.S or equivalent exam. 40% or above in average along with atleast 45% marks in Biology or 35 % in average and 50 % in Biology.
  • Selection would be on merit basis subject to the fulfillment of the state government reservation policy.
